After wasting billions of dollars in hopes of enforcing sobriety, the Noble Experiment gradually lost the support of the people and government (With soon to be president Theodore Roosevelt an advocate of legalizing the use and production of alcohol) and were left with the logical decision of ratifying the 18th amendment. In 1933 the 21st amendment was put into action this amendment ratified the 18th amendment. With people now able to legally buy and sell alcohol, the government was able to receive a tax from this new source of revenue. This expanding industry increase employment to an american people searching desperately for jobs. With people getting jobs more and more money went from buyer to seller helping the economy. The 21st amendment might not have been the only event that got America out of the Great Depression but it was the push we needed. This action boosted Moriarty and gave America a brief flicker of the carefree and liveliness of the Roaring Twenties.
